Here are five of the good ones:. So what happens when one takes all of the aforementioned out of the equation? You get one terribly endearing series. Which is a pity, considering that the second season introduced Lindsey Gort as Samantha Jones—a scarily perfect and praised casting choice. The series ends with Carrie deciding to stay in New York and weather through the storm she created for herself—but all of our most pressing questions, such as how she comes to meet Charlotte and Miranda, are fated to never be answered.
Steele is the plucky but broke Abby Vargas, an aspiring actress from Toronto who becomes the moral compass of the show, guided by her innocence toward the ins and outs of showbiz. IBT: What do you think the characters are up to all these years later? Where would the show pick back up? I feel like Tommy Q would probably still be producing, but [with] really quality artists.
I feel like Jude would have been touring and playing music and probably, maybe had a kid, somehow. Maybe a very Joni Mitchell thing. She decided to come back, maybe her dad was sick or something.
And then I think that Tommy and Jude should be on the panel of judges, and then they should have the show be focused on the new Instant Star, that Jude kind of mentored. Looking at the show now gives the viewer edification on how we have so many metoo testimonies and how it may no longer take as much time to get famous, but how the cost is much higher.
She sings Sooooooo well. My friend sings better though, i love Canadians. I love Jude's old hair color, orange. See Ya LAter --Kaylie. At first, I wasn't sure about the show, I thought it was another high-school-drama T. The show revolves around her, she sings pretty much all the songs from it except for a few due to some label issues and let me just her voice is stunning. Tommy Q Tim Rozon is her producer and they have a "thing" going on. Watching how this develops is just so refreshing.
The other characters play a great role in Jude's life, but just to mention some: Jamie, Sadie, Darius, etc. During the last seasons of IS, you've seen Jude grow and become a mature and great looking young woman, showing how the music business is like.
Her relationship with boys and her passion for music and lyrics. Alexz Johnson is by far one of the best singers I've ever heard, and a great actress you like to see on screen. If you want to find some great music, acting and have a great time watching TV, don't miss it, Instant Star is the show for you.
This show is addicting, every single little thing about it is perfect. It's sweet, funny, and unique. It is different from other shows, since it explores different issues, of those in the music industry. You learn so much about Jude, a girl who has trouble to survive in this fast-paced industry, and to make things worse for her, she starts falling for her producer. All of the actors portray their characters excellently, the plot lines, to be honest, can get a little too dramatic.
But nevertheless, the songs are so beautiful, it is pretty much the only thing you'll be listening to for a while. This show is amazing, it's worth watching for sure. I've read some of the other comments about this show, where people complain about how the characters are constantly making out, or how the lead is an airhead.
Clearly, these people have never seen this show. Instant Star is not about making out, or using people to make it to the top. It is about struggle. About how you have to work at stuff to make it happen.
Jude Harrison wins the Instant Star competition at age She struggles to remain true to herself, despite what her label wants. She falls in love with Tommy, has her heart broken, and gets back up. Jude Harrison is not an airhead. She is smart, and she does stay true to herself.
You find yourself rooting for her to win. Is there making out? Well, what show doesn't have it? Is it constant? Jude has boyfriends. Jude kisses said boyfriends.
You would too. Another complaint that is lodged in my head is "you never see them at school, or doing schoolwork. In season 1, Kat struggles with physics. In season 2, Jude fails a test. You see them at school. It's another thing that Jude has to deal with. All in all, this is a good show. Maybe it pushes reality a bit, but so do other shows.
Jude Harrison, now 17, is a good person. This is a good show for teens to watch. In the end, what's important is what you think. As Tommy says "Don't ever ask permission to like your music", and that's applicable to everything. It can be interpreted as "Don't ask permission to like yourself", and I think that's a great lesson. Watch away, teens. Instant Star is about jpeg00 20 February We get to know her and her family more, and the rivalry between her and her sister, and everyone else in the business or at school, etc.
She struggles between doing her thing and doing something that would be a wiser career choice. Of course the big shots of the business think she's too young and want to control everything from her music to her looks. And it seems that everything in her life is happening so quickly, like her love life, her career life, everything.
She goes from being a nobody to being a somebody in a blink of an eye, and it's quite overwhelming. This show is about a not very popular teenage girl who wins a contest because she's a good songwriter, then gets a recording contract that doesn't turn out to be what she expected.
She goes on to discover that all the things that go along with stardom are pretty hard to handle--especially for someone still learning to just maneuver through life. She's a sweet and talented kid, and the show is about her joys and disappointments. BTW--The songs are all really sung by the actress unlike most TV shows where they overdub as can be seen in the credits. I watch this show every Friday and anxiously await the next episodes.
Teen angst, yes, but told poignantly and with talent. The writing is great, music as heart wrenching as any teen could want, and acting superb. They are approached with a newlywed reality TV show "Rocknroll Honeymoon" in the beginning of Season 4, but at the end of the series, the director Therman wants to create drama for the show by getting the married couple to sign divorce papers, which neither of them want to do. Karma gives the director whats for, throwing him and the crew out of their loft and telling Speed she loves him.
The director later shows up and tries to sue the two for breaching their contract and take away their loft. Season 1 Shay Mills is Jude's first love and heartbreak. An international rap star, the two got off to a good start after Jude was edged out of the studio while Tommy was producing his first album.
Shay was definitely interested in Jude, but his demanding uncle Darius tried to talk him out of starting a relationship with her to keep his image. This issue was eventually worked out later when Jude spoke against this and they began to date. It is revealed that Shay was going on a big world tour, which worried Jude as she discovered what the "Number 1 Rule of the Road" was, that being break up with your girlfriend before going on the road.
The couple tried to work around that and found out that Shay was willing to break the road rules to be with Jude, but soon after this Shay took up an interest in Eden Taylor, Jude's rival and began dating her while dating Jude at the same time.
He broke the heartbreaking news to Jude that it was over between them on the night of her sixteenth birthday party, completely wrecking the event altogether. The last that was heard from Shay was at the end of Season 1 when he invited Jude to come on tour with him and be the opening act, which she politely declined and instead opting to embark on her own tour.
Season 4 Short-lived romance, they've kissed when working on music together at Jude's rehearsal space after her third album was complete.
However, she tries to contact him after hearing the news her tour was canceled and Milo snubs her. Jude's father. Stuart is extremely supportive of Jude's career since he being a big music fan himself eg. In the show, it seemed like Jude and Stuart had a closer relationship than Jude and her mother Victoria. Sadie was the first one to find out that Stuart was cheating on his wife with their travel agent.
Sadie kept this information a secret for quite some time and didn't tell Jude because she knew this news would crush her. Jude eventually found out about this when she came home with Jamie and saw her dad making out with the travel agent making out on their cough. After this, Stuart moves out of the Harrison home, leaving Jude and Sadie with their mom. Although, Stuart comes back to life in his original home when Victoria up and leaves for Europe with her divorce lawyer without telling her girls.
Jude's mother. Victoria wants Jude to focus more on her studies than her music, given Jude is still a young teenager and still figuring things out.
Victoria seems to have more of a steady relationship with her older daughter Sadie than with Jude. In Season 2, Victoria has moved on from her first husband and is now dating her divorce lawyer. She eventually marries him without telling the girls where she was going and when she will be back. Jude and Sadie are left alone and Stuart moves back in with them to help get their heads around the madness.
Since the character's departure in the second season, she has yet to return or to be mentioned. The series ends with no further appearances or mentioning of her, leaving her whereabouts forever in question. Jude's "perfect" older sister.
She excels in academics and athletics, gaining award after award. Jude and Sadie don't always get along but there sure are times where they show, they do care about each other. When Sadie started dating Tommy Q, Jude was not happy but eventually accepted things as they were. Jude even tried to play cupid and get the two back together again, knowing that her sister really cared for him. Sadie may be the perfect daughter but it was obvious she was jealous of Jude's musical ability and the recognition she received for it.
In the end, these two are sisters and it will always be that way. Sadie now works for G-Major as a receptionist and Director of Publicity. Her name was inspired by The Beatles song "Sexy Sadie".
