When is ivy bridge e release date

Intel could've just used a half-generation delay so the high-end chips don't have to compete with the architectural improvements of the next generation. The closer Ivy-E is, the closer Haswell-E becomes :.

Lionheart Where the 8 cores at? Time for an upgrade. Soon we are waiting for Rampage V Extreme announcment!

I wonder if they will be releasing a Xeon equivalent of the iK, and if so, how much more expensive it will be. Although it might not be worthwhile to upgrade from Sandy-E, it's good news for new buyers. Might stick it out if you're in the market for a iK for some better power consumption Very good point! Even if it is a small upgrade over the previous generation its better then nothing for those that are interested.

Yes we want Haswell-E but I don't think people would like it one bit if Intel announced that was all that Socket would ever have. On a side note I've heard of no leaks suggesting that there would be a chipset upgrade supplanting X Thats the only reason I'm skeptical. I'd like to see native USB 3. I thought the X79 chipset seemed a little lacking when it was launched and now in its advanced age even more so, Right now there is absolutely no point in upgrading. Sad state of affairs is fully evident when those brand new super-duper are compared with now ancient LGA It delivers same kind of performance and all of that was in Switching X58 for X79 is like switching new Ferrari for Ferrari which is 5 years old.

Same car, no difference. From a performance standpoint no, but from an architecture standpoint it is a lot different. So performance might not be different, but more of the functionality is in the CPU as opposed to the motherboard from an expansion standpoint. Cutting out the IOH was a good idea in my person opinion. There are a few of us who are very interested in the Ivy Bridge E's simply because we want some additional use out of the LGA mobos. My personal rig ay home is "just" a LGA i7 k, but I use a i7 k rig almost everyday at work, and my boss already told me that he's getting an i7 x which I will get to upgrade- yeah!!

Waiting is the hardest part The X79 motherboard was made to replace the X You can search our catalog of processors, chipsets, kits, SSDs, server products and more in several ways. When it exited the desktop motherboard market, Intel only promised to release new Haswell motherboards and to support them through the end of their warranty period.

Intel never promised to release updated X79 motherboards for Ivy Bridge E, nor did it promise to update its existing X79 boards to support the new chips. In a very disappointing move, Intel confirmed to me that none of its own X79 boards will support Ivy Bridge E.

There are only three parts to worry about: With the exception of the quad-core K, IVB-E launch pricing is identical to what we saw with Sandy Bridge E almost two years ago.
